Our Mission
Our History
Dr. John Woodward is our veteran of veterinary medicine here at Clayton Veterinary Hospital. He practiced at Clayton Veterinary Hospital for 40 years before a handshake with Dr. Bradley Speed. That handshake was the start of Dr. Bradley Speed buying Clayton Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Bradley Speed has maintained the quality and expertise care that Dr. John Woodward has been providing his community for years. While Dr. John had planned on a nice retirement, he could not stand being away from his 2nd home for long, he shortly returned back to help Dr. Brad and those same animals (and their people) he had grown to love over 40 years. Dr. Brad has brought his loving and dedicated owners in the community with him to Clayton Veterinary Hospital. From working at Reeves and Rabun Animal Hospital while in school, Dr. Brad went onto University of Georgia for undergrad through vet school. He obtained his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at University of Georgia in 2010. He worked in in Thomasville and Jersey, GA before moving back to Rabun County Georgia. He worked at Rabun Animal Hospital once he moved back home, until he was able to purchase Clayton Veterinary Hospital in 2021.
Our Community Involvement
After taking over Clayton Veterinary Hospital in 2021, Dr. Brad Speed had his sights set on helping the community. We have been working closely with Rabun County Highschool’s Agriculture department and helping with their new veterinary science course. By letting the highschoolers job shadow to helping their livestock get ready for a show, we offer multiple opportunities to teach and help our younger generation. We have also been assisting Appalachian Animal Rescue with veterinary care and Macon Moves Animal Care with spays and neuters of feral cats.
